Start:up Alpe-Adria Summit is a two-day meeting of Slovenian and Austrian actors of the cross-border startup ecosystem and international guests with the aim to strengthen cooperation, to reflect together on possible ecosystem improvements and possible measures for improvement as well as to promote a common vision at EU and global level.

As part of this effort, the event will serve as a vehicle for public revelation and promotion of the Alpe-Adria Startup and Scaleup Manifesto. 
 
The event will contribute to the shared vision of a cross-border start-up ecosystem that can compete with leading startup ecosystems at global level, and will also highlight the importance of startup companies and entrepreneurial talent in creating new high quality jobs.
 
Due to restrictions caused by COVID-19, the program will be streamed from the main venue in Klagenfurt as well as from secondary venues in Ljubljana and Maribor.

Workshop 2: How to best leverage European startup media (tips & tricks)




Getting good media coverage for your startup is very challenging. Bear in mind that a systematic and strategic leverage of key media, events and other channels like podcasts is a key to success.  

In the 3 hour workshop you will meet 4 TOP experts, each covering one topic. Workshop is curated and coordinated by Robin Wauters, a seasoned technology journalist, analyst, keynote speaker, moderator, facilitator, event curator and the founder and editor of Tech.eu. 

Media relations will be additional covered from TOP PR industry expert Cathy White from CEW Communications, who worked for Seedcamp, Tech City UK, and communication campaigns for renowned clients like  Index Ventures, DFJ Esprit, and Transferwise. Ben Costantinti from Startup Sesame who connects all major European tech events will tell you tips and tricks on how to best leverage startup events. Andrii Degeler from Tech.eu will tell how and if to start a podcast.

In 3 condensed and practicals  hours you will:

• get to know how you should organize your PR and media campaigns,
• how to pitch media and bloggers,
• what rules to apply before you reach out to journalists, which buzzwords to avoid,
• how to get most out of European tech events and how to pick which one to take part in,

Get the inside track on the world of venture capital. Learn the stuff no one usually teaches you. But Francois Mazoudier, angel investor, experienced founder who has raised over $200M and lost one company, a tech veteran known for BS-free approach to life, does.

Francois will tell you:

• why to raise money from VC (or not),
• what are the alternatives to VC funding,
• what investors expect from you,
• how they use you, not help you, as well as will he tell you
• all about key nasty terms and about common mistakes & misconceptions.

Let’s face it - you’re not special (enough), therefore Francois will help you change your reality field while setting your USP (unique selling proposition).
