Allegion, company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, is investing an undisclosed amount in the Graz startup company Nuki. They will be taking over a minority share. Allegion is a leading global provider of door security solutions. With internationally renowned brands such as Schlage, CISA and SimonsVoss, they have generated annual revenue of over two billion euros providing solutions for households, companies, schools and other institutions worldwide.

"Partnership with Nuki is the next logical step"
The strategic investment gives Allegion access to the fast-growing European market for smart access solutions. "Our goal is to drive the digitization of our security solutions and drive growth through investment in innovation. Partnering with Nuki is another logical step in achieving our goals," said Lucia Veiga Moretti, Allegion's senior vice president and president EMEIA. "Nuki is a pioneer in smart access in Europe. By combining our open ecosystems, we will work together to develop the best solutions around smart entry."

"An ideal environment to take our vision further"
For Nuki, the partnership with a global player like Allegion is another milestone, says the startup. "Allegion brings both global market strength and growing presence in Europe. This is the ideal environment to take our vision a significant step further. I am very confident that together we will be able to exploit the enormous market potential of our technologies," says Martin Pansy, founder and CEO of Nuki Home Solutions. According to the company, the startup in Graz is the leading supplier of retrofittable, smart access solutions for Europe.

Digital door lock without tag
Nuki’s core product is the retrofittable Nuki Smart Lock, compatible with all current European lock cylinders. The electronic door lock can be retrofitted to the inside of the door over the existing lock within two minutes. In conjunction with the Nuki smartphone apps and diverse integration options in smart home systems, customers gain a significant plus in terms of comfort and safety, according to the startup. With the Nuki Box, the latest addition to the product portfolio, entrance doors to multi-family homes are now being converted into intelligent access systems.
